1. Promoter
The promoter is Living Better Foods Pty Ltd ABN 72 638 508 531, trading as Byron Beef Jerky, of 12 Dudgeons Lane, Bangalow NSW 2479 (“Promoter”).
2. Promotion periods
The qualifying purchase period begins at 12:00am AEST on 5 August 2026 and closes at 11:59pm AEST on 4 September 2026.
The entry period begins at 12:00pm AEST on 7 August 2026 and closes at 11:59pm AEST on 4 September 2026 (“Entry Period”).
All times are Australian Eastern Standard Time, being Sydney time during the Promotion Period.
Entries submitted outside the Entry Period will not be accepted.
3. Eligibility
Entry is open to Australian residents aged 18 years or over at the time of entry.
The following people are not eligible to enter:
- directors, employees and contractors of the Promoter;
- anyone directly involved in administering or judging the competition;
- employees of OTR directly involved in the campaign; and
- immediate family members of the above people.
For these Terms, “immediate family” includes a spouse, de facto partner, parent, child or sibling, whether or not they live at the same address.
4. Eligible products
To enter, an entrant must purchase one of the following eligible 120g Byron Beef Jerky bags from a participating OTR store during the qualifying purchase period:
- Teriyaki;
- Sweet & Saucy;
- Spicy Beef; or
- Chargrill.
Other Byron Beef Jerky products, flavours or pack sizes do not qualify unless the Promoter expressly states otherwise.
5. Proof of purchase
Entrants must retain their original itemised receipt or valid electronic receipt.
The receipt must clearly show:
- the purchase of an eligible 120g Byron Beef Jerky product;
- the OTR store or retailer details;
- the date of purchase; and
- sufficient transaction information to verify the purchase.
Entrants do not need to submit their receipt when posting their entry. Proof of purchase will be requested from provisional winners before prizes are awarded.
Failure to provide valid proof of purchase within the requested timeframe will result in disqualification.
Each eligible product purchased supports one entry. A receipt showing multiple eligible products may support the same number of separate entries, provided each entry contains a different original video.
6. How to enter
During the Entry Period, an eligible entrant must:
- Purchase an eligible 120g Byron Beef Jerky bag from a participating OTR store.
- Retain valid proof of purchase.
- Create an original video showing where their Byron Beef Jerky takes them.
- Upload the video publicly to Instagram or TikTok.
- Tag @byron_jerky in the post.
- Keep the entry publicly accessible until judging and winner verification have been completed.
The video must clearly feature an eligible Byron Beef Jerky product.
Entrants are not required to film at an OTR store or show an OTR location in their video.
No additional entry fee applies beyond the ordinary retail cost of the qualifying product and the entrant’s usual internet or mobile-data costs.
7. Multiple entries
Multiple entries are permitted, provided that:
- each entry is a substantially different and original video;
- each entry is supported by a separate eligible product purchase; and
- the entrant can provide valid proof of purchase for each entry if requested.
Duplicate or substantially identical entries may be disqualified.
8. Content and safety requirements
Entries must not:
- be filmed while the entrant or another person is driving;
- depict or encourage dangerous, unlawful or irresponsible conduct;
- encourage distraction while driving;
- infringe copyright, trade marks, privacy or other third-party rights;
- contain offensive, defamatory, discriminatory, misleading or unlawful content;
- feature identifiable people who have not consented to appearing;
- disclose personal information or vehicle registration details without permission;
- use music, footage, images or other material without the necessary rights or permissions; or
- breach Instagram or TikTok rules and community standards.
Any entry filmed at an OTR location must not:
- show fuel pumps or refuelling activity;
- show a substantial or wide view of the forecourt;
- obstruct staff, customers, vehicles or store operations; or
- disregard instructions given by OTR staff.
The Promoter may disqualify any entry it reasonably considers unsafe, inappropriate, misleading, non-compliant or damaging to the reputation of Byron Beef Jerky or OTR.
9. Game of skill and judging
This competition is a game of skill. Chance plays no part in determining the winners.
Eligible entries will be assessed by a judging panel appointed by the Promoter.
Entries will be judged according to:
- creativity and originality;
- storytelling and entertainment value;
- effective inclusion of Byron Beef Jerky;
- relevance to the theme, “Show us where your Byron Jerky takes you”; and
- overall execution.
The Best Overall Video prize will be awarded to the eligible entry receiving the highest overall assessment.
The Most Creative Video prize will be awarded to the remaining eligible entry assessed as demonstrating the strongest creativity and originality.
Likes, views, comments, follower numbers and shares will not determine the winners.
Judging will be completed by 11 September 2026 at the Promoter’s premises in Bangalow, New South Wales.
The judges’ decision is final, subject to applicable law.
10. Prizes
The prizes are:
First prize — Best Overall Video
AUD $500 cash, paid by electronic bank transfer.
Second prize — Most Creative Video
A Byron Beef Jerky product bundle valued at AUD $250 recommended retail value.
The total prize pool is valued at AUD $750.
The contents of the product bundle will be selected by the Promoter and are subject to availability.
The product bundle cannot be exchanged for cash. If a product becomes unavailable, the Promoter may substitute it with a product of equal or greater value.
11. Provisional winners and verification
The provisional winners will be contacted by direct message from the official @byron_jerky account on or before 11 September 2026.
The Promoter will never require a winner to pay money or provide a social-media password to claim a prize.
A provisional winner must respond within five business days and provide:
- valid proof of purchase;
- proof that they are at least 18 years old;
- their full name and contact details;
- an Australian bank account for the cash prize, where applicable; and
- an Australian residential delivery address for the product bundle, where applicable.
A prize will not be awarded until the entrant’s eligibility and qualifying purchase have been verified.
If a provisional winner:
- cannot be contacted;
- fails to respond within five business days;
- cannot provide acceptable proof of purchase or age;
- provides false or insufficient information; or
- has breached these Terms,
the Promoter may disqualify that entrant and award the prize to the next-highest-ranked eligible entry under the original judging criteria.
12. Winner announcement and prize delivery
Once verified, the winners may be announced through Byron Beef Jerky’s website and social-media channels.
The Promoter may publish the winner’s:
- first name and surname initial;
- social-media handle;
- winning video; and
- prize won.
The cash prize will be transferred to an Australian bank account nominated by the verified winner.
The product bundle will be delivered to an Australian residential address nominated by the verified winner.
The Promoter will use reasonable efforts to distribute prizes within 28 days of verification.
13. Entrant warranties
Each entrant warrants that:
- the entry is their original work;
- they possess all necessary rights and permissions to submit it;
- every identifiable person appearing in the video has consented to appearing;
- the entry does not infringe another person’s rights; and
- all information supplied to the Promoter is complete and accurate.
14. Use of submitted content
Ownership of the original video remains with the entrant.
By entering, the entrant grants the Promoter a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence for 24 months after the competition closes to reproduce, publish, resize, crop and communicate the entry through:
- Byron Beef Jerky’s organic social-media channels;
- the Byron Beef Jerky website;
- email marketing;
- winner announcements;
- competition recaps; and
- internal campaign reports and presentations.
Where practical, the Promoter will credit the entrant.
The Promoter will seek separate permission before using an entry in paid advertising or materially changing the meaning of the content.
15. Privacy
The Promoter may collect personal information including an entrant’s:
- name;
- social-media handle;
- contact information;
- proof of age;
- proof of purchase;
- bank details; and
- delivery address.
This information will be used to administer and judge the competition, verify eligibility, contact winners and distribute prizes.
Information may be disclosed to delivery, payment or professional service providers where reasonably necessary to administer the competition.
The Promoter will not sell entrant information.
Verification documents and sensitive information will be retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for competition administration, accounting or legal obligations.
16. Relationship with OTR
This competition is conducted solely by Living Better Foods Pty Ltd, trading as Byron Beef Jerky.
OTR is the participating retailer only.
OTR is not the promoter, sponsor, administrator, judge or prize provider and is not responsible for:
- administering the competition;
- receiving or assessing entries;
- selecting or contacting winners;
- verifying purchases; or
- supplying or distributing prizes.
Questions regarding the competition must be directed to Byron Beef Jerky and not to OTR store staff.
17. Social-media disclaimer
This competition is not sponsored, endorsed, administered by or associated with Instagram, Facebook, Meta or TikTok.
By participating, each entrant completely releases Instagram, Facebook, Meta and TikTok from any liability arising from or connected with the competition, to the extent permitted by law.
Entrants understand that they are providing their information to the Promoter and not to Instagram, Facebook, Meta or TikTok.
18. Technical problems
The Promoter is not responsible for entries that are:
- lost or delayed;
- incorrectly tagged;
- inaccessible because of privacy settings;
- removed by a social-media platform; or
- not received because of an outage, network failure or other technical issue outside the Promoter’s reasonable control.
Entrants are responsible for ensuring their post remains public and correctly tags @byron_jerky.
19. General
The Promoter may verify entries and disqualify an entrant who:
- tampers with the entry process;
- submits fraudulent proof of purchase;
- provides false or misleading information;
- breaches these Terms; or
- acts in a way that compromises the safe or fair operation of the competition.
If circumstances outside the Promoter’s reasonable control prevent the competition from operating as intended, the Promoter may modify, suspend or cancel the competition where permitted by law.
Any material change will be communicated publicly as soon as reasonably possible.
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
20. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.
Entrants submit to the courts and tribunals of New South Wales, without limiting any rights they may have under laws applying in their own state or territory.
